Steve joined the firm in 2017 and has 30 years of investment management industry experience that includes key roles with Credit Suisse global private banking, Calvert Investment Management and Oppenheimer. He started his career on Wall Street as part of a top-ranked investment strategy team before attending the University of Virginia’s Darden business school. He then became a lead sell-side analyst with Oppenheimer before starting a decade-long stint with Credit Suisse global private banking, where he oversaw the U.S. Technology sector investments and was deputy head of Americas equities research. Steve took that global thought leadership expertise to Calvert Investment Management, where he oversaw the firm’s fundamental equity investment process and the integration of material environmental, social and governance (ESG) information with Calvert’s equity funds. Steve came to Capital Advisors from Ameriprise, where he was Director of Equity Research.
Steve teaches the Capstone course on leadership and corporate strategy with the Jack Welch Management Institute’s MBA program. He also teaches accounting, finance, economics, and corporate strategy (depending on the semester) with American University’s Kogod School of Business. Steve’s formal education includes a B.A. from Colgate University with a double major in Economics and Political Science, and an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden business school. Steve holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) charters.
